This modification allows the store owner to set a product template for a specific category.  If the product template setting is set the products in the effected category will use that template.  Because a product can be put in many categories it only works for the first category template set if it is set in many categories which the product belongs.  Also the product template setting on the product level overrides the category setting so you can still set it on that level.
